Did You Know That Obesity And Pregnancy Don't Go Together?

It is dangerous to be overweight when you are pregnant. It is also wrong to diet during pregnancy, because that will undoubtedly deny both you and your unborn baby the vital nutrients supply. Harmful for both you and your baby. What is required during pregnancy is to eat right, exercise right.

Some of the healthy snacks you can imbibe along with moderate consumption of normal food during pregnancy are nuts, fruits, raisins yogurt etc, which can stave off hunger while not adding unnecessary weight to your body.

Being overweight during pregnancy will expose you to the risk of unfavorable health conditions such as Gestational Diabetes, Preeclampsia (Abnormal state of pregnancy characterized by hypertension and fluid retention and albuminuria ; can lead to eclampsia if untreated), overweight baby, which ultimately leads to hard labor and Cesarean Sections. Albuminuria is the presence of excessive protein (chiefly albumin but also globulin) in the urine; usually a symptom of kidney disorder

Health risks are even higher when an already obese or overweight woman becomes pregnant., because in majority of cases, you become even more overweight during pregnancy making maternal mortality a high risk factor.

Did you also know that babies whose mothers were overweight during pregnancy are disposed to several health problems such as congenital heart problems and neural tube defects?

From the foregoing, you can see that it is best not to be overweight before or during pregnancy. And if you are already overweight, then you must do everything in your power to shade the surplus weight. Health care providers and nutritionist have methods that work quite well in bringing down overweight or obesity.

Finally, although some people are genetically prone to being obese, lifestyle has got so much to do with it. Form good eating and exercise habits and you will be in control of your weight even if you are prone to obesity.
